Considered one of the world's leading equine appraisers and expert witnesses, Tracy Dopko is a Senior Equine Appraiser with the American Society of Equine Appraisers, a Certified Member of the International Society of Appraisers, and an Accredited Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers. With nearly three decades of experience, she has completed equine appraisals for clients worldwide and has been retained as an equine expert witness and consultant in legal matters. She has also been qualified by both Canadian and American courts to provide expert testimony in equine-related proceedings.

Akhal-Teke
Tracy has extensive experience appraising this breed.


American Saddlebred
Tracy holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card for the American Saddlebred, Road Horse, and Saddle Seat divisions and is also a licensed breed show steward. She has attended USEF Saddle Seat Equitation judges' clinics and has judged American Saddlebreds at numerous competitions throughout her career. Tracy has extensive experience appraising American Saddlebreds at every level—from local and regional show horses to many of the breed's most accomplished national champions and elite show horses across North America.


Appaloosa Horse
Tracy has judged this breed extensively throughout her career and is a Color Breed Council Approved Judge. She also has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and appraising this breed.


Arabian
Tracy has extensive experience judging Arabians at Equestrian Canada and Arabian Horse Association events. She holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Arabian division, and is also a licensed show steward with the Arabian Horse Association. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has trained, shown, and sold Arabians throughout her career, earning multiple circuit and Regional Championships in Arabian Open Hunter and Arabian Hunter Pleasure. As a member of the Arabian Horse Association, she has extensive experience appraising Arabians ranging from local show horses to many of the breed's most accomplished national champions and elite performance horses across North America.


Barrel Racing
Tracy has extensive experience appraising barrel racing horses and barrel racing breeding stock, from Peewee and Youth competitors to futurity prospects and many of the top-ranked barrel horses in North America. Her appraisal experience encompasses horses at every stage of development, from promising young prospects to proven champions and accomplished breeding programs.


Breeding
Tracy has been breeding Warmbloods, Welsh Ponies & Cobs, and Hunter Ponies for more than 20 years. Since 1996, she has hosted mare and stallion inspections at her facility for ISR/Oldenburg Registry North America, Rheinland Pfalz-Saar International (RPSI), and the German Westphalian Verband. She operates a successful breeding program, standing multiple stallions and managing a highly successful shipped semen program with consistently high first-cycle conception rates. Tracy personally freezes semen from her resident stallions and performs reproductive procedures on her own mares, including palpation, ultrasound, and embryo transfers. She has also completed advanced training in equine embryo transfer, reproductive ultrasound, and frozen semen techniques with some of North America's leading equine reproduction specialists. In addition to appraising breeding stock, Tracy has extensive experience valuing frozen semen, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) semen, frozen embryos, equine clones, and other equine reproductive assets, providing clients with specialized expertise in this highly technical area of equine appraisal.

Connemara
Tracy is the only Canadian to hold a USEF Registered Connemara Judge's card and serves as an Inspector with the Canadian Connemara Pony Society. She has completed advanced Connemara History and Breed Type & Conformation clinics with Tomás MacLochlainn of Ireland, a renowned Connemara breeder, inspector, judge, and past President of the Connemara Pony Breeders' Society. Her expertise has been recognized internationally. In 2010, Tracy was nominated to judge the prestigious Clifden Connemara Pony Show in Ireland, and she later judged the 2018 ACPS Region I Connemara Breed Show in Vermont. She also designed and continues to manage the Canadian Connemara Pony Society's website and has represented Team Connemara in the Spruce Meadows Battle of the Breeds. In addition to her judging and breed leadership, Tracy has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and appraising Connemara Ponies, with appraisal experience ranging from pleasure and performance ponies to top-quality breeding stock and national-level competitors.


Draft Horse
Tracy has extensive experience appraising Clydesdales, Belgians, Percherons, Shires, and Spotted Draft horses.


Dressage
Tracy has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and breeding dressage horses and ponies in both Canada and the United States. She is a member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) and Dressage Canada, and serves as an FEI Level 1 Para Dressage Steward as well as an Equestrian Canada Senior Dressage and Para Dressage Steward. Her appraisal experience includes dressage horses and ponies across North America and internationally, ranging from Introductory Level prospects to FEI competitors and Olympic-caliber horses. This broad background, combined with her active involvement in the sport, provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the dressage market and the factors that influence value at every level.


Eventing
Tracy has extensive experience appraising eventers from pre-entry/beginner novice/BE80 to advanced.


Friesian
Tracy is the only Canadian to have held a USEF Friesian Judge's license and has judged Friesians extensively throughout her career. Although she has since relinquished her judging license, she continues to remain actively involved with the breed by regularly attending USEF Friesian Judges' Clinics. She has also attended Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (KFPS) keurings in Alberta and is a member of the Friesian Horse Association of North America. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has extensive experience training, selling, and appraising Friesians, with appraisal experience ranging from breeding stock and young prospects to performance horses and elite representatives of the breed.

Hackney
Tracy holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Hackney division. She has judged Hackneys throughout her career and has extensive experience appraising the breed, from pleasure and driving horses to breeding stock and competitive show horses.

Hunter/Jumper
Tracy is an FEI Level 1 Jumping Steward, a USEF Registered Hunter, Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation, and Hunter Breeding Judge, and an Equestrian Canada Senior Hunter, Hack & Hunt Seat Equitation Judge, Recorded Jumper Judge, Hunter/Jumper Steward, and Local Course Designer. She has attended advanced hunter, jumper, equitation, and hunter breeding judges' clinics in both Canada and the United States and serves as a facilitator for Equestrian Canada Hunter, Hack, and Equitation Judges' Clinics in Western Canada. Her officiating experience includes serving as a Jumping Steward at the prestigious CSIO5* Spruce Meadows tournaments and shadow judging at the renowned CSIO5* Spruce Meadows 'Masters' Tournament. She has judged numerous hunter and jumper competitions throughout North America, including the 2019 $32,500 J.C. Anderson Legacy National Jumper Medal Finals and the 2023 Jump Alberta Young Horse Regional Jumper Finals. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and breeding hunter and jumper horses and ponies in both Canada and the United States. Her appraisal experience spans North America and international markets, encompassing everything from Short Stirrup hunter ponies and amateur mounts to Grand Prix jumpers, elite hunter competitors, and Olympic-caliber horses.

Tracy has attended the Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark inspection in Alberta and has experience appraising this breed.

Morgan Horse
Tracy holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Morgan division, and has judged Morgans extensively throughout her career. Having grown up showing Morgan horses, she developed an early appreciation for the breed that has continued throughout her professional career. In addition to her judging experience, Tracy has extensive hands-on experience training, showing, selling, and appraising Morgan horses. Her appraisal experience encompasses horses across a wide range of disciplines and levels of competition, from pleasure and amateur horses to breeding stock and high-level performance horses.

National Show Horse
Tracy holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Arabian, American Saddlebred, Road Horse, and Saddle Seat divisions. She has completed USEF National Show Horse Judges' Clinics and has judged National Show Horses extensively throughout her career. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has experience appraising National Show Horses across a variety of disciplines and levels of competition.


Norwegian Fjord Horse
Tracy has been actively involved with the Canadian Fjord Horse for many years. She designed and continues to manage the website for the Canadian Fjord Horse Association, as well as several websites for Fjord breeders throughout North America. She also managed the breeding program for one of her Fjord clients for several years, providing her with valuable insight into the breed's bloodlines, breeding practices, and market. In addition to her involvement with the breed, Tracy has experience training, judging, and appraising Canadian Fjord Horses. Her appraisal experience encompasses breeding stock, performance horses, and pleasure horses, supported by a thorough understanding of the breed's unique characteristics and market.


Paint Horse
Tracy has judged American Paint Horses extensively throughout her career and is a Color Breed Council Approved Judge and a member of the American Paint Horse Association. Her judging experience, combined with her ongoing involvement in the breed, provides her with a comprehensive understanding of breed standards, conformation, and performance. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and appraising American Paint Horses. Spanish Horses - Andalusian, Lusitano, & PRE
Tracy regularly attends USEF Andalusian and Lusitano judges' clinics, has judged these breeds throughout her career, and has extensive experience appraising Spanish horses across a wide range of disciplines and competition levels.


Thoroughbred
Tracy holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Thoroughbred division, and has judged Thoroughbreds extensively throughout her career. Her experience with the breed extends well beyond the show ring, having bred, trained, shown, and sold Thoroughbreds in a variety of disciplines. In addition to her judging credentials, Tracy has extensive experience appraising Thoroughbreds for a wide range of purposes. Her appraisal experience encompasses breeding stock, young prospects, racehorses, pleasure horses, sport horses, and accomplished performance horses, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the Thoroughbred market and the factors that influence value.


Trakehner
Tracy is an inspector with the Canadian Trakehner Horse Society and has been actively involved with the Trakehner breed for many years. She has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and breeding Trakehners, giving her a thorough understanding of the breed's conformation, performance, bloodlines, and market. Her accomplishments include earning numerous American Trakehner Association Horse of the Year awards and Canadian Trakehner Horse Society Year-End awards in both the hunter and dressage divisions, reflecting a long history of success with the breed at a high level of competition. In addition to her breeding and competition experience, Tracy has extensive experience appraising Trakehners for a wide range of purposes. Her appraisal experience encompasses breeding stock, young prospects, amateur and professional mounts, and elite performance horses.


Vaulting
Tracy's involvement in the equine industry began with vaulting, where she spent several years as a vaulter before pursuing other equestrian disciplines. Today, she is the only Canadian licensed as a USEF Registered Vaulting Technical Delegate and also serves as an FEI Level 2 Vaulting Steward, VaultCanada Steward, and Equestrian Vaulting USA Steward. She is a member of Equestrian Vaulting USA and has officiated at major international competitions, including the FEI CVI3* Canada Cup in British Columbia and the FEI Vaulting Junior World Championship Selection Trials in California. In addition to her extensive officiating experience, Tracy has experience appraising vaulting horses. Her background in the sport, combined with her international stewarding credentials, provides her with a thorough understanding of the unique qualities, training, temperament, and athletic ability required of successful vaulting horses, as well as the factors that influence their market value.


Warmbloods (Dutch Warmbloods, Hanoverians, Oldenburgs, etc.)
Tracy has been actively involved in the Warmblood industry for more than 25 years, breeding Canadian Sport Horses, Hanoverians, and Oldenburgs. Since 1996, she has hosted annual Warmblood mare and stallion inspections at her farm for the ISR/Oldenburg Registry North America, Rheinland Pfalz-Saar International (RPSI), and the German Westphalian Verband, providing her with extensive firsthand knowledge of Warmblood breeding, bloodlines, conformation, and performance evaluation. Her accomplishments as a breeder include earning two of the three available Breeder Stars awarded by the ISR/Oldenburg Registry North America—one for producing multiple Premium Mares and an approved stallion, and a second for producing registered offspring with proven performance success. She is just one Premium Foal away from earning the registry's highest breeder recognition. Tracy also holds an Equestrian Canada Senior Breed Sport Judge's card, which includes the Canadian Sport Horse and Canadian Warmblood divisions. In addition to her judging credentials, she has extensive experience training, showing, selling, and appraising Warmbloods. Her appraisal experience includes some of the most accomplished Warmblood stallions and mares in Canada, the United States, and Europe, including Olympic-level competition horses, giving her exceptional insight into the international Warmblood market and the factors that influence value.


Welsh Pony & Cob
Tracy is the only Canadian to hold a USEF Recognized Welsh Pony & Cob Judge's card and is also an Equestrian Canada Senior Welsh Pony & Cob Judge and a Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America Approved Judge, Clinician, and Technical Delegate. She has judged Welsh Pony & Cob competitions extensively throughout North America, including multiple appointments at both the Central National and Eastern National Welsh Shows, as well as shows in California, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia. She has also served as both a Judge and Technical Delegate at the American Welsh National Show on multiple occasions. A recognized leader within the breed, Tracy currently serves on the USEF Welsh Committee and has been selected as the clinician for numerous Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America judges' clinics. She is a Life Member of the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of America and a member of the Welsh Pony & Cob Society of Canada, reflecting her longstanding commitment to the breed and its continued development. In addition to her extensive judging and leadership credentials, Tracy has broad hands-on experience breeding, training, showing, selling, and appraising Welsh Ponies and Cobs. Her appraisal experience encompasses breeding stock, young prospects, pleasure ponies, performance ponies, driving horses, and national-level show winners, providing clients with well-supported opinions of value based on decades of firsthand involvement with the breed.


Western
Tracy is one of only a handful of Canadians to hold a USEF Recognized Western Judge's card and is also an Equestrian Canada Senior Western Judge and Senior General Performance Judge. She currently serves as Chair of the Equestrian Canada General Performance/Western Committee and is the facilitator for Equestrian Canada's General Performance/Western Judges' Clinics in Western Canada, reflecting her leadership role within the western horse industry. In addition to her officiating credentials, Tracy has successfully competed in western pleasure, stock seat, and trail, earning several National Championship titles in these disciplines. Her combination of judging, competition, and industry experience provides her with a thorough understanding of western performance horses, conformation, training, and the factors that influence value. Tracy has extensive experience judging and appraising western pleasure, trail, and reining horses, as well as appraising barrel racing horses, team roping horses, gymkhana horses, western dressage horses, rodeo bucking stock, and breeding stock. Her appraisal experience ranges from amateur and youth horses to elite performance and breeding animals, providing clients with well-supported opinions of value across the full spectrum of the western horse industry.
