Asset Appraisals
An asset appraisal determines the Fair Market Value of the tangible assets owned by a business. For equine operations, this may include horses, tack, horse trailers, farm machinery, yard maintenance equipment, and other movable assets. In short, if it isn't permanently attached to the property, it is typically considered an asset. We regularly perform asset appraisals for equine businesses in connection with estate and divorce settlements, insurance claims, and business valuations. Our experience also extends well beyond the equine industry, having completed asset appraisals for multi-million-dollar hog, poultry, dairy, beef, and fruit orchard operations, as well as for bank collateral, bankruptcy proceedings, credit risk assessments, mergers and acquisitions, liquidations, and partnership dissolutions.

Asset Audits
An asset audit is the physical verification of a business's assets by comparing its inventory records to the assets actually present on the property. This process confirms that the reported assets exist, verifies their location, documents their condition, and helps protect the interests of lenders, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Asset audits are an important component of risk management because they help establish the existence, condition, and usability of business assets, all of which can influence their Realization Value—the estimated amount an asset would bring if sold, less the costs required to prepare and complete the sale. A typical asset audit includes locating and identifying each asset, documenting its attributes and dimensions, assessing its condition, and recording any modifications, additions, repairs, or missing items. The resulting report provides lenders and other interested parties with an accurate, independent assessment of the assets securing their investment.
